چکیده
Beauty is produced much more abundantly at LHC energies compared to RHIC energies. The increase in production, coupled with the beauty large mass, makes it an interesting observable for the physic of the ALICE experiment[1]. Semi-electronic decay of beauty mesons offers a powerful tool to study beauty production in ALICE, attributed to its high tracking resolution (ITS, TPC, TRD) and vertexing (ITS)[2]. With the high single track pointing resolution of about 50 μm at pT ≈ 1GeV/c, ALICE is well suited for studying the displaced electrons from beauty mesons decay because the relatively large difference in typical decay length of beauty (≈ 500 μm) and charm (up to ≈ 300 μm).

متن کاملMeasurements of heavy quark production via single leptons at PHENIX
The measurement of single leptons from the semi-leptonic decay of heavyflavor hadrons has long been a means for studying heavy-quark production. PHENIX has measured single muons in pp collisions at forward rapidity and single electrons in both pp and AuAu collisions at mid-rapidity at √ sNN = 200 GeV. The most recent PHENIX single lepton results are presented in the context of state-of-the-art ...

The paper presents recent PHENIX results for the nuclear modification factor R AA in Au + Au Collisions at √ s N N = 200 GeV for the electrons originating from semi-leptonic decays of open heavy flavor carrying particles. We also report the results of the azimuthal asymmetry (v 2) measurement for those electrons, which is directly related to the heavy quark elliptic flow.

Heavy Quarks will be abundantly produced in Heavy Ion Collisions at LHC energies. Both, the production of open heavy flavoured mesons and quarkonia will probe the strongly interacting medium created in these reactions. In particular, the ALICE detector will be able to measure heavy flavour production down to low transverse momentum, combining leptonic and hadronic channels, covering a large rap...

The ALICE experiment measured the charm and beauty production in the semi-leptonic decay channels (electrons at mid-rapidity and muons at forward rapidities) and the D meson production in the hadronic decay channels at mid-rapidity in lead-lead collisions at √ s NN = 2.76 TeV and proton-proton collisions at √ s = 7 TeV and √ s = 2.76 TeV. The resulting nuclear modification factors will be prese...
